Chicago Bears Alshon Jeffery has been suspended for four games due to violating the leagues banned substance policy. The substance was deemed to be a performance enhancer and not allowed by the NFL. When asked about the violation, Jeffery states that he took a “recommend supplement” to help with inflammation. In an official statement Jeffery said “I take full responsibility, and I’m deeply upset with myself for not doing the proper research on this supplement,” he said. “I want to apologize to my family, the Bears organization, my teammates and Bears fans. I will work hard to earn back the respect and trust of the Bears nation and look forward to being back on the field.”
Alshon will be out of the active roster till Dec. 11th. Meanwhile the Bears offense will continue to struggle with key players missing like; Kevin White, Eddie Royal, and Kyle Long. After this season Jeffery will be eligible for free-agency. In his last seasons, all with the Bears, he has 25 touchdowns, 292 receptions and 4,358 total yards.
